Day 1 Victoria Falls: Zambezi Sunset Cruise

Arrive at either Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) or Livingstone (Zambia) International Airport. Transfer to the one of the world’s most famous hotels, the classical, luxury Victoria Falls Hotel. Welcome drinks and canapés on the terrace with stunning views of the Victoria Falls bridge, followed by a romantic sun set cruise on the Zambezi River and dinner back at the hotel.

Day 2 Victoria Falls: Victoria Tour of the Falls

Enjoy breakfast with the distant roar of the waterfall in the background, while looking down on the spray and Victoria Falls Bridge. You will be taken on a guided tour Victoria Falls, also known as 'Mosi oa Tunya’ or ‘The Smoke that Thunders’. 550 000 cubic meters of water cascade over these falls every minute, making them the largest falling body of water in the world. The Falls are 1.7 km wide and between 100-116 metres high.

Another unique factor is that almost the entire width of the falls can be viewed on foot, face on from as close as 60 metres. The guided part of the tour takes you through the rainforest and to the major view points, and lasts 2-3 hours. You will be able to spend more time after the tour at the waterfalls, or you can return to your hotel.

Optional Excursions: A great number of Optional Excursions are offered at Albatros Travel Desk in Victoria Falls, such as helicopter spins, safari walks, elephant back safari, canoeing the Zambezi River or visiting the Victoria Falls Bridge – and also bungee jumps and white river rafting for the more daring.

Day 3 Victoria Falls - Rovos Rail: Embark the train - Zimbabwe

After breakfast, transfer to Victoria Falls Station to board Rovos Rail for your luxury, south bound journey. The train departs at 10.00 and travels through Zimbabwe the whole day, passing amongst other places, Hwange National Park and Bulawayo.

Freshen up in your suite, then relax and enjoy the journey in the midway Lounge car or Observation carriage at the rear of the train. Use this time to meet some of your fellow travelers. Lunch and dinner are served in the dining car/s at 13h00 and 19h30.

Day 4 Rovos Rail: Botswana

While enjoying the exclusive train ride and utter luxury through the fabulous landscapes of Botswana on this fine day, you will be treated to 3 fantastic meals. Amongst other places, you pass Francistown and later Gaborone. The train stops along the way and short excursions are arranged. Late in the evening the train arrives at the Botswana-South African Border at Mafikeng, for border formalities.

Day 5 Rovos Rail: South Africa, disembark the train in Pretoria

Through the night the train passes through the town of Zeerust, and in the afternoon South Africa’s grand metropolis, Johannesburg. Again the train will stop along the way and short excursions are arranged. Arrive at journey’s end, at the gracious Rovos Rail station in Capital Park in Pretoria around 17h00. Transfer to your hotel or Johannesburgs OR Tambo International Airport.
