Maweni House is situated 8 kms out of Kilifi Town, access being along the main tarmac road leading along the Bofa Beach coastline to the North.

It is in a secluded area with glorious sea views and its 360 degree rooftop is perfect for viewing the dramatic moon rises and sunsets. The house has only just recently been constructed. It has ground and first floor verandahs overlooking the sea. Within its secure perimeter wall is a beautiful one acre garden with an orchard of tropical fruit being developed on a further half acre along the roadside. Two magnificent 350+ year old Baobab trees provide the backdrop to the walled garden on one side of the house and perfumed Neem trees shelter the generous swimming pool with semi-horizon bench seating.

Facing North East directly on to the Indian Ocean, Maweni House overlooks Horne’s Pool, locally famed for its stunning marine life of corals and tropical fish, which is accessible by local canoe off the beach for snorkeling and scuba diving. Maweni Beach, adjoining Bofa Beach, provides beach walks at low tide of almost 7 kms. There is also access to some of the best deep sea fishing in the world with charter boat operators, water-skiing, kite surfing, yachting and wind surfing facilities available nearby.

The house is let on a self-catering basis and is fully staffed. Fishermen come to the door making fresh fish and sea food, including lobster, prawns, crab and oysters, available on a daily basis. Temporary staff, e.g. baby carers, can be made available through Charles and children of all ages are welcome at Maweni. Cots and high chairs are available on request for guests with very young children.
