Day 1 - Nairobi
On arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta international airport, you will be met and transferred to your Nairobi hotel. Afternoon visit the famous Karen Blixen museum and the giraffe centre in Karen / Langata. Lovingly cared for by the national museums of Kenya, Karen Blixen’s home is one of a number of highly interesting museums, archaeological and prehistoric sites to be found throughout Kenya. It continues to be an immensely popular attraction. Overnight at Nairobi hotel.
Day 2 - Ol Pejeta Game Ranch
After breakfast transfer to Wilson airport for your domestic flight to Nanuyki. You will be met and transferred to Sweetwaters luxury tented camp, set on a 22,000-acre rhino sanctuary in the ol pejeta game ranch.
Apart from offering an excellent opportunity to get close to the endangered black rhino, ol pejeta is also home to the lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and other savannah game. Afternoon is spent game viewing.
Dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters tented camp
Day 3 - Ol Pejeta Game Ranch
After breakfast you have the opportunity to visit the chimpanzee sanctuary. Sweetwaters game sanctuary has set up a 200-acre chimpanzee sanctuary. A visit to the sanctuary and the 30minute boat ride (weather permitting) on the river among the chimps is a must. The aim of the project is to set up a colony where chimps can be introduced, rehabilitated and taught to fend for themselves in an area similar to their natural living conditions. Priority is given to orphaned and abused chimps.
Those interested in experiencing the bush at night have the opportunity at ol pejeta, as it is one of the few places in Kenya offering night game viewing. Night game drives are special. Nocturnal animals such as aardvark, porcupine, and silver backed hyena and leopard can be seen.
Day 4 - Samburu/Buffalo Springs
After breakfast commence your safari with a drive north to Samburu game reserve. During your transfer you will see breathtaking views of the surrounding country. Arrive at your camp at lunchtime. After a few hours of relaxation, spend the rest of the afternoon game viewing. The area around the life-giving Uaso Nyiro River is home to the rare and beautiful species of northern Kenya such as grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk gazelle and the Somali ostrich. Elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and the more common savannah game are also abundant here. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge
Day 5 - Samburu/Buffalo Springs
This day is spent in Samburu/buffalo springs with morning and afternoon game viewing. You can choose whenever you would like to go on a camel safari in Samburu game reserve. The Samburu people will take you on a safari through the bush on a camel where you will be able to game view. All meals at the club. Overnight at camp/lodge
Day 6 - Masai Mara
Today’s flight takes you through the Great Rift Valley, the longest rift in the crust of the earth, to the Masai Mara. You will spend two full days in this natural paradise among zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, buffalo, elephant, antelope and gazelle. You will encounter prides of lion resting in the shade of acacia trees or lying low in the tall grass, in wait for their next meal. There is a good chance of spotting cheetah and if you are lucky, a as well as the shy leopard. Take lunch, dinner and stay overnight at camp/lodge
Day 7 - Masai Mara
We go game watching before and after breakfast and again in the afternoon, with lunch and a siesta at the lodge. In the evening, it is time for a well-deserved shower and a refreshing drink before dinner. The camp, situated on the Mara savannah offers a fantastic view of the Mara plains and you can easily observe the herds of game on the plains in front of you. All meals at the camp. Overnight at camp/lodge
Day 8 - Nairobi
Leave the camp after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi arriving in the early afternoon. We see you off at the airport.
