Nairobi National Park
Located two kilometres from Nairobi city centre, this colonial-influenced property is in African safari country, nine kilometres from Nairobi National Park, and 15 kilometres from the Giraffe Centre.
Health club and pool
The hotel is set in tropical gardens with an outdoor pool and includes six restaurants serving local Kenyan and international dishes; the health club contains a gym, sauna, and steam bath.
Wireless Internet
The 165 air-conditioned guestrooms at Fairmont The Norfolk feature orange and red tones, and offer wireless Internet access, satellite television, minibars, and complimentary bottled water.
Nicest Hotel in East Africa
The Norfolk is still the nicest hotel to stay in Nairobi and probably in East Africa. The recent renovations have added some very nice new rooms and expanded the Lobby and Delamere Terrace. I slightly miss the intimacy of the old Delamere Terrace, but this works very well now as both a bar and restaurant for breakfast, lunch and light dinners. The staff are superbly friendly and helpful and teh gardens are a sublimely peaceful place to look into while unwinding from jet-lag.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
If you’re going on to Tanzania, it’s much easier to get the lunchtime KenyaAir flight from Wilson, than to rush back to JomoKenyatta for the 8.00am Precision Departure. That way you get to enjoy breakfast and peaceful morning hours at the Norfolk.
