Unlike most hotels on the Kenya coast, Che Shale is a very small beach hotel, just five bandas at Che Shale and the same number at Kajama, the budget-oriented sister property. We are also very secluded. In fact Che Shale is the only hotel situated on a wide beautiful bay that stretches 5 kilometers.

In addition to being small and secluded, the building style, the Che Shale style, is very unique. The entire prpoperty is built out of renewable local materials such as Casaruina trees, palm trees, doum palms, cocunut fiber, mango wood and other local woods. You will not find anty plastic or any signs of a modern complicated life. Furniture and fittings and accessories have been carefully crafted and designed to give our natural setting a slightly contemporary feel.
