Day 1: Durban
Fly into Durban International Airport where your Group B rental car awaits you. From here it is a short drive to Endless Horizons Boutique Hotel your hotel for one night in the city.
Durban is a heady melting pot of culture and diversity and is filled with numerous activities for the holidaymaker. Rickshaw rides, markets, exotic foods and tastes give way to golden beaches warm seas and with its tropical climate swimming is possible all year round. Visit u-Shaka Marine World, a 16 hectare freshwater and seawater theme park if you are looking for a world class marinelife experience.
One night at the Endless Horizons Boutique Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2 - 4: The Battlefields
Drive from Durban to the lower regions of the Battlefields region - an area that is steeped in history. With a car at your disposal this area is full of exciting activities for the whole family to enjoy, from hiking and nature trails, to historical and cultural attractions.
At Isibindi Zulu Lodge, you will relive the traditional Zulu culture and sleep in luxury dome huts and the re-enactment of the enthralling battles that shaped the face of South Africa will fascinate you.Here, you will also experience the traditional village Zulu and have a boma dinner complete with traditional dancing and singing.

Day 4 - 6: Big 5 Safari
Come face to face with the Big Five in one of KZN’s world class game reserves. Lush vegetation gives way to rolling green hills and plains teeming with game. At Phinda Forest Lodge a typical day on safari starts off with an early game drive where skilled rangers and open 4x4 safari vehicles will soon have you within an arms length ofAfrica’s wildest creatures.
Afterwards it’s back to the lodge where a sumptuous breakfast awaits you and then the day is yours until lunch and the late afternoon game drive and the chance to see some of the more nocturnal animals. Sundowners in the open bush will be remembered for years to come and back at the lodge for dinner exciting tales of the days adventures are swapped over a glass of fine South African wine and excellent meals.

Day 6 - 9: Turtles, Dolphins and the Beach
After your Big Five encounter head back to the coast for some rest and relaxation at the beach. Known as the dolphin coast, the area is lined with sugar cane plantations and the warm seas hide the southernmost coral reefs in the world.
Excellent diving and snorkellingwith exciting encounters with huge shoals of fish, dolphins and whales is available. Three nights accommodation at Thonga Beach Lodge will show you the beauty of this untouched paradise, with tranquil swimming bays, coastal forests and clear warm waters.
Accommodation is rustic yet chic, and the air conditioned suited will keep you cool on the warmest of evenings. (this is in a low risk malaria area)
During the months of November to January, the lodge offers tracking of the Leatherback and Loggerhead turtles on nocturnal beach walks 9this is an incredible sight as turtles come ashore to lay their eggs). Three nights accommodation at Thonga Beach Lodge fully inclusive of accommodation, meals, teas and coffees.
When your days of fun in the sun are up you’ll take a 4.5 hour scenic drive back to the airport back to the airport to drop of your rental car and end your superb Best of Kwa-Zulu Natal Safari Tour.
