Visit Lake Manyara with its tree-climbing lions…view the 12-mile wide rim and 102-square-mile floor of the Ngorongoro Crater, which offers abundant year-round game viewing…and the Serengeti, a World Heritage Site that translates to "endless plains" in the Masai language. If you visit the western corridor of the Serengeti from July to September, both the crowds and herds of wildebeest dwindle, but you can perhaps better experience the true vastness and remoteness of these expansive plains, yet still enjoy abundant wildlife.
